Does Abyssal Lapidary Use AI-Generated Content?
This is one of the most-asked questions in the Abyssal Lapidary community, and one of the easiest to get wrong. This page separates what is verifiable from what is opinion, in strict layers — and deliberately draws no conclusion.
Layer 1: Verified Fact
The official Steam store page currently carries no AI-generated-content disclosure. Steam gives developers a dedicated section to disclose AI-generated content; as of October 24, 2026, the Abyssal Lapidary listing has no such section. That is a checkable fact about the store page — nothing more, nothing less.
Layer 2: Community Opinion (unconfirmed)
In the game's Steam discussions, players have argued about AI usage for days. The claims circulating include:
- Unconfirmed: some players believe certain art assets — customer portraits are the example raised most often — look AI-generated.
- Unconfirmed: one poster says the developer has spoken on a Chinese social platform about using an AI assistant to help write code.
- Unconfirmed: other players say the art and music were made by people.
None of these claims has been confirmed or denied in an official announcement, and the store page gives no answer in either direction.
What This Page Does Not Do
This page does not conclude that Abyssal Lapidary uses AI-generated content, and it does not conclude that it does not. The accurate position today is: no official disclosure, one attributed claim about coding help, and nothing verified about art or audio. Treat confident statements in either direction as unconfirmed until Light Worm or XD Inc. addresses the question officially.
Steam's AI disclosure field exists so players can make informed choices. If the disclosure status of the Abyssal Lapidary page changes, this article will be updated with the date and the new wording.
